Dear Toronto Lung Tx Group,
I am a lung tx recipient from Stanford and a consultant for APT Pharmaceuticals in California. APT is sponsoring the clinical trials at Univ of Toronto for inhaled cyclosporin. I am helping them in a project to create awareness of lung transplant research among lung transplant candidates and recipients. We hope that by educating patients, they will be more able to make informed choices about being involved in clinical trials. We are organizing a volunteer patient advisory committee of lung recipients "ambassadors" from the biggest/best transplant centers around in North America and Toronot is one. Ambassadors would talk to support groups about the importance of clinical trials to help research towards rejection, etc. We are looking for someone who is involved in the local Toronto transplant community (for ex may attend support groups), who is good at public speaking, reliable, enthusiastic and interested in helping promote lung transplant research and raising awareness about clinical trials. We also hope that interested ambassadors may be able to travel to our training meeting in San Francisco from April 2-4, 2009. If you or someone you know may be a good candidate and are interested in joining this worthy cause, please email Ana Stenzel at anana1872@Yahoo.com. I really appreciate your consideration. Ambassadors would be a volunteer position, approx. 3-6 hours per month. Trip to San Francisco would be fully covered. Thank you!
Ana Stenzel
Further to our emails and phone calls, it's my pleasure to be an ambassador for your clinical trials awareness project. I'm looking forward to seeing you in San Francisco. Merv.
